Stourbridge.

"Welcome to Stourbridge.com, your internet guide to this historic town in the English West Midlands. Stourbridge is famous for its Glass industry and the Stourbridge Lion locomotive, the first train to run in the USA in 1829. Stourbridge is a great place to live in and visit as well, with parks and pleasant suburbs. Situated on the edge of the area known as the "Black Country" and less than fifteen miles from Birmingham, Stourbridge has lovely countryside nearby, with villages such as Kinver, Churchill, Belbroughton and Clent just a few minutes drive away. Also, the Stourbridge Canal offers great walks or bike rides. Yet Stourbridge is both industrial and rural, and this contributes to its unique character. Stourbridge town centre features many well preserved buildings and interesting specialist shops, while great pubs and restaurants make the town well worth a visit." - http://www.stourbridge.com/

Actually quite an interesting site, if you like that sort of thing. And does indeed include references to what the place is really best known for, at least if you were into indie music in the late 80s (or indeed alternative chart music in the early 90s).

Anyway who, when, what, etc etc.
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

5 pubs in the Good Beer Guide too, apparently. Hopefully we won't get ourselves chucked out of them for singing a rousing chorus of 'What Gives You The Idea Your So Amazing, Baby'.

Yes, I am in. But you knew that already...

Well you'd be no good on Know Your Grebos, would you? Crazyhead were Leicester. You've got Poppies, Stuffies or Neds to choose from though.

Good point well made. I could pretend that was why I thought they'd be chucking us out, for singing from the wrong hymn book...but that'd be a fib.

Bloody grebos. Get a haircut. And a wash. And some decent tunes.

Having said that, weren't Neds more fraggle than grebo?

***EDIT*** my 1,000th post and I spent it debating grebo. Blimey.

As I said on the other thread, while I have secured a ticket for myself, I know someone who could do with one, so if anyone has a spare, please let me know.

Right, extra ticket sorted. Local knowledge tells me that The Royal Exchange is the best pub in the area...so unless I hear otherwise, that's where I'm heading. Shall we do a roll call?

Looks like Nick and I will be in town sometime between 4 and 5, depending on trains. Station, venue and Premier Inn appear to be very close together. This is about as much planning as I have the time and capability for this week...
