Not sure what's going on with the pair at the bottom right there, they look well cosy.
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

i regard myself to have been really lucky to have grown up at exactly the right time (15 in 1977) in the right place (manchester was the centre of the musical universe when i was 17) with an older brother who went to gigs all the time and didnt mind me going too

well done on making it this far!

BSP Baraka

I saw the Smiths on the Meat is Murder tour, with James supporting. Fantastic.

Never saw Dolly P, but I've seen Shirley B if that counts? She was great, although my dad was disappointed that she never had a frock change during the show.

Mum saw The Beatles at The Cavern. I think she secretly preferred Cliff Richard though.

I've seen Rite of Spring quite a few times... always a stunning piece. I don't think I've seen it overseas yet though.

Not see JD, but did see NO while still in their prime, inexplicably in a sports centre somewhere between Liverpool and Manchester.

I saw fat barney in sainsbury's a couple of days ago. To say he's not still in his prime is an understatement. He was with a young girl (about 12) and he looked like her old grandad, wearing feckin' reading spectacles to select his preferred brand of juice. Weird as, I tell thee...

When I read Pale Fox's quote I didn't read julies and thought he was talking about hardcore american rock band rites of spring! I have only heard a couple of songs from them, but they seem pretty cool!

The Replacements, whom I saw post-Bob Stinson. I'd love to see them with Bob, but that would involve a shovel and divine intervention. Also Superchunk (still sorta active), Buffalo Tom again, awesome live band. I would have loved to have seen Husker Du live, though I've seen Bob Mould. Big Country, again with the digging and the praying.

Seconded... in fact I'd have liked to have gone to SXSW full stop, any year, whether they were playing or not; I just seem to have been too disorganised to go the years I could afford it and too skint the years I was organised enough to look into it.
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

Was that the one DeLacey went to?
Oh yes, Husker Du, the Replacements... also the Who, back in the day, all ones I would have done if I'd had any sense, or wasn't busy being born. Did see the Smiths, though.

I too would love to have seen Husker Du, I saw the Smiths at the Kilburn National Ballroom ( sadly no longer a gig venue )
