Interpol

Postby avocetboy » Wed Jan 25, 2017 4:00 pm

15 years since TOTBL, my second (and occasionally first) favorite album EVER. Live in London and Manchester (and the rest of the world) in September.

Can those with contacts have a word and get BSP to support!

Thanks

Then Interpol would look surprisingly shite in comparison like the first time.
(I say that going to see Interpol who gave me a hard on at the time, never heard of BSP)
Fuck Ally Pally!
That's John Torode!

We're going to Luxembourg.

And Manchester, but that's not as exciting.

Fuck Ally Pally indeed.
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

Excuse my lack of knowledge, but why "Fuck Ally Pally"?

No idea what Skinku is talking about (on this or indeed any other occasion) but in my case I just really really hate it as a live music venue. I am told it is perfectly suitable for darts. It's not just the size - at about 10000 it's on a level with Manchester's GMex and I've been to many a good gig there - I dunno, only been a couple of times and just thought it was fucking awful. Simultaneously cavernous and claustrophobic, with the atmosphere of a small asteroid and crap sound. It's also miles from anywhere and I seem to recall involved walking up a massive hill and there not being any good pubs. I don't know what it would take for me to go there again but clearly one of my favourite bands playing one of my all time favourite albums isn't enough :)

mmmm. Thanks for the explanation. Must admit that I did go and see interpol there a few years ago, but did not take anything positive or negative from the experience because I drove down and straight back after the gig and, therefore, did not really consider surroundings.

However, it will be late summer and after an afternoon of drinking, the walk up the hill may be quite pleasant. Plus when I booked tickets during the pre-sale Manchester had sold out.

Missed the pre sale and then spent a frustrating hour failing to get tickets on Friday. Will see if the resellers prices calm down, but if anyone gets to hears about Manchester spares, let me know!

I only went to Ally Pally once, to see BSP support The Strokes,.
It was horribly soulless and I ended up talking to a barwoman throughout Strokes, horrible, not her, just what the fuck
BSP were fucking fine though as many people looked at me bewildered.
From my experience of actually getting to the venue, being inside the venue and leaving it, it is fucking pure SHITE<

I've found that the best tactic seems to be the Facebook event page from 2-3 weeks before the event. You can also register on the likes of scarletmist.com for face value tickets.

Also, it's not unknown for the Albert Hall to release a handful of extra tickets for a long sold out gig a few days before the event or even on the day itself. They tend to announce it on Twitter. Last resort but I've previously got into a couple of sellouts this way.
