Unlikely TV / radio / film soundtracks?

Postby The Secretary » Mon Jan 12, 2015 1:33 pm

This is a work-related enquiry! Any assistance welcome...

On weekend on Radio 4 Food & Drink Programme they were using a slightly surprising musical underlay / ident for their annual awards – Lou Reed's Street Hassle.

Can anyone think of any music used in such a way in spectaculary unlikely context?

A couple of examples that come to mind:

The Fall used to advertise Vauxhall Corsa.

BSP's To Get To Sleep playing as Abi Titmuss went to sleep on a beach on some reality-TV show.

Many thanks. White Lines has a literal connection with sports fields – twice if you included the likes of Chelsea coke snuffler Adrian Mutu... Any more suggestions very welcome.

I swear I heard a couple of seconds of Hamburger Lady by TG in the first episode of the Vic n' Bob vehicle, House Of Fools. It's when the disturbingly sexual neighbour comes on to Vic for the first time.

Please don't ruin it for me if that's wrong.
Do it for the Butthole Surfers.

Faure's Pavanne for the BBC's coverage of the 1998 World Cup?

'Kashmir' was used on a piece on the birth of the US Navy on 'Coast'' - unlikely to many, and too obvious for others.
