The Bristol Reggae Explosion 1978-1983 Bristol Archive Records

First in a series of very fine cuts from the halcyon days of 'Scrumpy Dub'.
Check out Black Roots, Talisman and more.

The exhaling monotonic sigh of a laptop computer, and the faux tick tock of a tiny digital clock on the ikea shelf.
The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity

Sounds pretty contemporary.
Myself - 'The Man With The Horn' which is a latter day Miles Davis album and not a reference to Priapus or any other dissatisfied hobbyist.

Right now, it's just rain beating hard on the window, the whooping of the wind, and a song called Graceless, by The National, the 8th track on their CD "Trouble Will Find Me"

Could The Man With The Horn be related in any way to The Boy With The Thorn In His Side?

Will check out The National - thanks for the tip.
If one could create a Miles/Marr tie-up, I'd be there. Maybe in the next world.

I am never actually listening to any music when I post on this forum, because I'm usually at work, but this weekend I've been enjoying the most recent Mogwai album, the newly released debut from Post War Glamour Girls, new single and older stuff by Trojan Horse, recent second album by Desmadrados Soldados De Ventura, and blowing the dust off old Slowdive and Slint albums in preparation for Primavera.
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

Can I play with madness..Magnum. Tune.
"Even if I saw these names grouped together completely out of context away from here... lets say a set of albums sitting together in a charity shop - I would immediately think of you and no other!"

thanks Gary...

radio 2 is on in the office
some astrology rubbish on
There are people ringing up for advice
Should that not be outlawed by now

or does someone prepared to take advice from an astrologer deserve everything they get?

Is that some kind of prog rock thing? Name rings a bell. Maybe I'm way off and it's the delicious sound of coldly crumbling creamy ice lollies. Whatever - respect.
