Currently reading the recently re-actived Ablaze! fanzine. A weighty piece of work, interviews with Sleaford Mods, Katie Harkin, Laetia Sadier and much, much more. It took about 30 seconds for me to remember why I sometimes found the original zine a bit hard going back in the 90s. The articles are often more about the author than the supposed subject. Still, I'm glad it's back, faults and all.

That's all very 1980s. It was a short lived phenomenon even then. James Brown's Attack on Bzag was probably the best example.

True...shame it's still noticeable in this new! improved! version of Ablaze. Wouldn't want to put anyone off it, but that's how it looks to me.

I know I've read AOBzag, think I may still have a copy or two in the house...don't remember much about it though.

Just because I know you were all wondering, I'm reading...

Absolutely fuck all!

Have hit a bit of brick wall on the reading front, don't know why. Maybe it's because there are so many partly read and unread books lying around, I don't know?! I see them there but can't decide which to pick up first and then, because I feel pressure to read it, I don't. I might tidy them all away and leave one out and see what happens.

Watch this space...or don't.

If Marlon James' book was a better one then I want to read that too as this was incredible.

How to be both by Ali Smith was terrific, I thought it was going somewhere else in the middle but seemed to sort itself out

now on

Paulina and Fran by Rachel B Glaser which may or may not be chick lit, but is funny and she has a very good turn of frays

Hi Nic! I'm currently reading Sense and Sensibility (I had a baby. I need something light.)

Glad to see you are still a rampant bibliophile :)

6 month backlog of National Geographics...no, Murdoch took over the TV channel, not the magazine, so it's still a window on the world in a calm, measured way. With really good photography.

Going to read The Left Hand Of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin very soon. Despite being a huge fan of the Earthsea Trilogy*, I've never read any of her other work. A curious oversight.

*Yes, I have read Tehanu. As I say, I'm a fan of the Earthsea TRILOGY...
