Agreed on all counts above, plus:

Dogs Die In Hot Cars (perennial list-topper)
This Et Al (who have got very good recently, but dreadful name)
The Strange Death Of Liberal England (sorry forum... again, quite like them in all other respects)
Does It Offend You, Yeah? (No, it's just shit.)
The Seal Cub Clubbing Club (the sort of zany studenty name loads of bands have when they start - most ditch them for something less shit before they start making records though)
Giddy (rubbish local unsigned band worthy of wider note for its sheer horribleness)
I Was A Cub Scout
Death Cab For Cutie
My Latest Novel
!!!

and my anti-favourite; just because nobody outside the Mancunian electronica circuit has heard of you does not in any way justify calling your not-bad-actually-to-listen-to band Bitterly Ironic. (Ouch, I cringed even typing that.)
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

The Wodges of Jism

I personally think it was a great name, but it didn't help them a bit in their quest for success (but then neither did a lack of musicianship & decent songs nor total indifference from all their audiences).

You can get some great shit names for imaginary bands by looking in your google search history. Anyone want to start a band called Pine Cone Barometer?

Surely the BEST name for a band ever?
Kevo or Matthew Wood? Malevolence or good?

The Beatles. Never use a pun in your band name, you'll never get anywhere.
