Live dates in 2021? With my reputation?

Postby pomfob » Tue May 25, 2021 6:23 pm

More in hope than expectation, I thought I’d set down all the upcoming dates that have been announced. I’m doubtful the first two will happen given the ongoing virussyness, but eh, let’s see. ***EDIT*** And lo, it came to pass that Folkestone & Godney have been postponed. Shifted them to the end until new dates are announced.

Prices are the usual £17 or so, except for Godney, which I don’t know about, and the Manics in the ‘fax, a whopping £50.

Thursday 9 September, Craufurd Arms, Milton Keynes

Friday 10 September, Piece Hall, Halifax
Headlined by Manic Street Preachers, also featuring The Anchoress and Adwaith.

Thursday 28 October, Guildhall, Gloucester

Friday 29 October, Esquires, Bedford. Sold out, worth checking.

Saturday 30 October, Arts Centre, Norwich. Sold out. Might as well have a look.

Date TBA. Quarterhouse, Folkestone

Date TBA, but presumably 2022. Godney Gathering, Glastonbury. It’s a small festival, being charitable I’d have to say the rest of the line up doesn’t appeal to me. It’s sold out, so what do I know? There is a Facebook group for ticket resales.

Had an email today saying that the Shrewsbury gig is cancelled and I can have a refund or a credit!

Same here. As I'm unlikely to be going to Shrewsbury any time soon, I've gone for a refund. Shame but there you go.

Editing the first post to add in Milton Keynes and Stockton.

Like an utter ding dong. I dallied on getting a ticket for Derby. So, this is an early plea for a spare, should anyone have one!

I really like British Sea Power and I loved their ironic name, sad they feel like they’ve had to change it for fear of people misunderstanding its intent. Anyone who thinks the “British” in their name was some sort of nationalistic dog whistle is a right fucking plonker. Oh well. Let’s hope the new music they put out is as good as ever.

Somewhat related, but the only name change of a band I liked that I was fully onboard with was when Viet Cong changed its name to Preoccupations — brilliant band, but that name was in poor taste indeed. Don’t see the same issue with BSP.

Cov vs Derby? ... Didn't realise that had much needle!

Anyway, will gladly take one.... Just asking around to see if I can take any more.

I'm in for two, if they're still about. Ta! Have you got a twitter or some such where I can slide into your DMs?
