Yorkshire seem to be quite poorly represented at this stage - perhaps teams from God's Own County are by and large allowed through to the next round?

Glasshoughton or Silsden are doable from my neck of the woods - I'm game if anyone else is?

There's a few NCEL sides in there, Emley, Penistone Church, Handsworth ... But not sure if we'll be back from hols.

The attendance at this was 6 or 7 times the usual league crowd. It was quite disconcerting. Especially when a couple of the Sheffield fans started up a chant. A chant! At Sandygate. I've certainly never heard the like.

Those of us who go more often had the last laugh. The weather turned inevitably bloody cold in the second half, at which point we calmly took out our jumpers and put them on, to jealous glances from around the stand.

Thing is, I'm aiming to be in London that day for The Ex at the DIY space. The London area seems to be covered by the 90s and early 100s on that list by the looks of it.

So...any local knowledge of the London(ish) clubs? Anyone up for some jumpers-for-goalposts action? Or indeed The Ex?

The Preliminary round is on Saturday 20 August. Was going to add it as well, but it's all X or Y v A or B, so a bit pointless.

unfortunately that's also the first day of the Conference North season so I will be in Altrincham for the visit of Darlington, it's a pity because otherwise I would have joined you
I think it's fair to say that most London clubs at that level play at pretty unappealing Local Authority grounds and all the quaint old ones are now housing estates
I believe Kramer Kevo Capt.Quiet and others went to Cockfosters one year, but that's another story

Hallam have entered this year, so I'll probably head over to Worksop. Two seriously old clubs going head to head.

Due to me being a tit, it's come to light The Ex are playing on Sunday, not Saturday, so that' s me going to London out. Somewhere Yorkshireish it is then.

Nil-nil to the Argyle...probably bored the pants off anyone who wasn't an Argyle supporter, but there you go. Magic of the cup, and all that.

Nowt to do with this post, but here's a previous FA Cup thread

Great, and good luck! I was there for Stoke City's 5-0 win against Bolton in the FA Cup semi-final (Jon Walters, who scored two, retired today). I've been very lucky to see Stoke win at the old Wembley (Autoglass Trophy, I think it was) and the Millennium Stadium (Division 2 playoff final) too. I didn't make the FA Cup Final (against Man. City), so it's 3 wins out of 3 for me. :D

Cheers Alex. You've definitely had more Wembley luck than I have! Interestingly my very-local side, Upper Beeding FC, have made it to the Sussex Intermediate Challenge Final this year for the first time, biggest game in their history, so perhaps the planets are aligning....
