BSP/Radcliffe & Maconie/Hadrian's Wall interface

I don't think this has been mentioned here yet... Presume BSP are on on Wednesday?

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie are walking along Hadrian’s Wall, stopping off to present their award-winning BBC Radio 2 show on the way.

They will be joined by guests including folk band Noah And The Whale, folk quartet The Unthanks, indie rockers British Sea Power and singer-songwriter Richard Hawley.

The pair will set off from Bowness-on-Solway on Friday and arrive at Wallsend next Thursday, September 10. Radcliffe said: “It’s one of the great British Walks and I can’t wait to get out on the trail. There’s something deeply satisfying about crossing the country of your birth from coast to coast.”

I've always fancied walking the Wall. Lots to see and do.

Indeed BSP are down for Wednesday, which suggests they'll be around Corbridge way, if it's recording live/pseudo-live. The event itself is non public (I presume it's in one of the local pubs), which is annoying since this is relatively close to where I live, so any hints gratefully received.....

You could always keep an eye on the Radcliffe & Maconie website - I think they said they'd be, ahem, "tweeting" their progress along the Wall. Then you could hang stake out an appropriate section of wall and stalk them back to the pub... Job's a good 'un...

They're at Chollerford tonight. In the George Hotel.

By my reckoning, they're doing 10 miles a day, so I'd guess they'll be a little further east than Corbridge for Wednesday... Heddon-on-the-Wall, perhaps? Although that would suggest some impressive dawdling over the next couple of days.

Looks like the Keelman pub conservatory is the place to be.

Roger that.

I'm a bit disturbed though. It appears Yan is sporting a comfortable pair of brown leather loafers . . . http://twitpic.com/h3f27

A storming version of Canvey Island. And was that a Nora bellow I heard at its close?

'Canvey Island' sounded brilliant, "a great slab of noise" as Maconie said.

Looking forward to Richard Hawley tomorrow.

I like Radcliffe and Maconie individually but they don't half play some tripe on this programme.

A brilliant Atom and Come Wander indeed.

Other points of note... hoping to get the new album out first half of 2010, and still committed to playing Tan Hill again next year.
