Trades Club, Hebden Bridge, Saturday 13 July

Postby pomfob » Fri Jul 05, 2019 1:03 pm

Their regular visit to the Trades returns. Always a party, as anyone who’s been before will know.

Suggestions for pre-gig pub? I’m going to call Vocation.

We should book a table or two when we know what time we’re arriving. Couple of good micro bars in Hebden Bridge too; Calans and Drink?, and the Trades does decent ales as well.

Offers of lifts? Well, there’s a good train service from both Leeds and Manchester, but you never know.

Spare beds? All taken at mine I’m afraid.

Cheap digs? In Hebden Bridge, you’ll be lucky.

Spare tickets? Sold out in an hour, if you’re not on the returns list at the Trades it’s probably too late now, but I expect there’ll be one or two tickets going spare on the day (but don't blame me if there aren't). Here’s the Trades’ website anyway.

And if you’re so inclined to see what happened in previous years, here’s some older Trades Club meet up threads.

Yes, they did play in 2016 when road testing the material for …Dancers…(remember Gary The Goldfish?), but there wasn’t a meet-up thread.

Support has been confirmed as Mark Peters.

Mark was the longtime mainstay of 00s Sonic Cathedral types Engineers and frequent collaborator with fellow SC alumni such as Daniel Land and Ulrich Schnauss in more bands than even I can remember. We saw him at the Trades about two weeks ago, supporting another survivor of the mid 00s gaze scene Maps, and he was excellent, solo post-rock guitar/electronics stuff largely from or similar to his most recent LP "Innerland".
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

I've gone & booked a table in Vocation from 1700; I suggest you do the same if you're coming in a big group.
