Barbican, London, Kinoteka Film Festival, Wednesday 5 April

Remember the Machineries Of Joy tour back in 2013? Well, I did a load of meet up threads for that, some of which were more successful than others. Anyway, here's the suggestion; not just the pre-gig pub, but offers of lifts, spare beds, spare tickets, cheapest ticket website, that type of thing.

I've just bought a ticket from this one (down the front, obviously), as far as I can tell the sole vendor is the Barbican itself.

Ooh, and for anyone who's not read the thread in the main section or clicked the link above, this ISN'T part of the LP tour. They're doing live soundtracks to Polish animations. The day before the LP tour starts. Of course they are.

Intending to get down in time to go and see the latest Richard Mosse / Ben Frost installation, having seen their previous collaboration on recent trip to Reykjavik. Not for the faint hearted: harrowing imagery and equally brutal sound. Expecting more of the same. https://www.barbican.org.uk/artgallery/ ... p?ID=19949
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

"Mosse has been working with an advanced new thermographic weapons and border imaging technology that can see beyond 30km, registering a heat signature of relative temperature difference"

that sounds like my kind of art!

He's pretty out there. The Enclave was one of the most affecting arts-based things I have ever seen.

There's a pub about 5 minutes from the Barbican, the one we went to before & after the power cut at the Barbican. Small but perfectly formed. Anyone remember its name?

It's a work night for me - what a surprise! :-(
... but only 10 minute's walk from the office, so I'm in :-)
Sod's law that it's an early finish, though, so I'll be kicking my heels for the best part of an hour :-(
..unless anyone's planning on afters :-)
There sails the heron
drawing behind him
a long wake of solitude

Well, I'm stopping over, so I've nowt better to do than talk Polish cinema with like-minded folks.

I have a spare ticket for this as it turns out Mrs Bod does not dig Polish animation, stalls Row B (which i think is the front?) will sell for beer and can pass on tickets on the night as i'm still going ..
