I'm not eating, because I'm driving up I-75 to Gainesville, FL on my way to The University of Florida & all the bilge it holds. (Go Tennessee!) Currently I'm in the middle of some God forsaken swamp and all I can smell is the 5 pound smoked bologna log I've got in the back. Here's a picture of her on the smoker earlier today. Isn't she lovely?! I'm not the first Tennesseean who's ever loved an eccentric sandwich, but I'm the Tennesseean with the awesomest eccentric sandwich. The Don Harmon.

Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to cut that bad girl into 1/2" thick slabs & deep fry em....yep it's a two step bologna process...(& don't you worry...I have a converter so I can plug my deep fryer into my car's cigarette lighter). Then I'm gonna butter & griddle up two thick slices of Texas toast and slam that slice of bad girl in between em. Then I'm gonna top em with about a cup of very mustardy & acidic coleslaw, throw on a handful of pickles & slather her up in sweet & spicy barbecue sauce.

Fuck you Elvis. You got nuthin' on a Don Harmon baby!

Are Greece having a closing-down sale?

Got a lovely rolled loin of pork to roast tomorrow for my folks. If all goes to plan I'll be opening one of my few remaining bottles of (hopefully decent) red Burgundy too.

Just back from eating and drinking my way through Derby and the surrounding area. Highlights were the tasty, if on the small side, balti pie at Pride Park, and a very substantial Surf'n'Turf at The Crewe & Harpur in Swarkestone. The rolls down the Brunswick Inn in Derby were none too shabby either.

(No) Lucifer sausage casserole tonight. Waitrose if you ask.

Not eating right now, but a braising a shoulder of pork all day today for some pulled pork sandwiches and appleslaw tonight
unless it dries to shit today in which case it will be takeaway

Never all day braised before, I think 5 hours is the longest, this will be 11ish (more if I get stuck at work), so fingers crossed

Last time I pulled the pork, I did a BBQ sauce as well but the guys preferred the gravy over it.
It is being braised in cider on a bed of apple, onions, celery, carrots and herbs so will probs just turn that into gravy unless bbq is asked for
