Almost all band names consisting of The something-or-other.

Cardboard Radio (indicative of output)
Arctic Monkeys

Actually...I find the worst bands are those with an offensively bland name: Ben's Brother, Athelete, Yawn

There's some truly uninspiring stuff on the Other Music forum right now - or should I say inspiring stuff from the point of view of someone who's into terrible band names. here goes:

Bearsuit
Foals
My Friend Jack
Mojo Fins
Tim and Sam etc.

A few of my own to add:

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Jimmy Eat World
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
"You don't get that sort of carry-on at an Arcade Fire show."

That band that 2/3rds of Underworld used to be in - it was just a sort of "graphic squiggle" (pre-dating Prince's symbol by about a decade) which according to wikipedia was pronounced "freuer"

I think they only had one hit: "Doot Doot", which was actually spelt $%& $%& ;-)

EDIT: found it:

To be fair, The Tim And Sam's Tim And The Sam Band With Tim And Sam (to give them their full title) was possibly going to get changed to something less ridiculous, until suddenly they started getting radio play and now they're stuck with it. And Sam doesn't exist anyway.
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

make COLDPLAY history
The wonder of the world, the beauty and the power,
the shapes of things, their colours,
lights and shades; these I saw.
Look ye also while life lasts. BB
