Surely it was from Camblewick Green? It started with the musical box, and it was Ticky Ticky Tock, Who's in the box? The episode revolved around the character who then appeared.

Amazing the way childhood things stick in your mind.... reminds me of this:

ticky ticky timbo no sa rembo charry harry ruchey pip perry pembo [roughly]

What the eff is that. It's a story I'm sure I heard a sum total of one time, about some dude with a long name falling into a well. And there it still is, will probably be the last thing I remember when I'm old and senile.

Camberwick Green began with 'Here is a box a musical box, wound up and ready to play...something... secret inside...something...today. If memory serves the 'somethings' didn't include Ticky Ticky Tock. Oh & PC McGarry was number 452.

"Here is a box, a musical box, wound up and ready to play. But this box can hide a secret inside. Can you guess what is in it today?"

I love finding these posts...
Ticky Ticky Tocks it's Maths in a box as easy as 1 2 3

Maths-In-A-Box was a made for schools TV show from a bygone era.

Glad people still remember it as my dad was the strange looking alien in it.
