Can you help me? It’s decision time. I’ve been trying to decide what to name my next two homebrews. Several years ago I posted something about this before. If you read it at the time, I fully expect that you’ve long forgotten.
One will be a porter, aiming for something similar to Fuller’s London Porter (well, I’m using the same hops and malt that they purportedly use). The other will be a smoked wheat beer, using some rauchmalt that I have left over from a previous brew.
Brewing history so far is listed below, so that you know which names have already been used. Some of the below have been brewed more than once; Heavy Water three times (because it turned out really well), and Baby (named as such when my son was born) was later replicated for my daughter. But in general I usually like to make something new. A handful of random pictures below as well, just to inspire/annoy people.
Anyway, here we go then; brewing history...
Open Season – lager (from kit)
Krankenhaus – wheat beer (from kit)
Lights Out For Darker Skies – porter (from kit)
The Land Beyond – IPA (from kit)
 Heavy Water – hefe weiss
Spirit Of St Louis – American pale ale (attempt to clone Sierra Nevada)
Who’s In Control? – experimental beer (randomly made with whichever hops and malt I had left over at the time)
 Baby – blanche beer
Blackout – porter (with heavy dose of dark malts)
The Scottish Wildlife Experience – fraoch (heather beer)
 Loving Animals – dunkel weiss
 I Am A Cider Drinker – lager
Like A Honeycomb – honey beer
Observe The Skies – hybrid dark witbier
Down On The Ground – treacle porter (the name came from the fact that I spilled a couple of pints’ worth all over the floor whilst I was bottling)
When A Warm Wind Blows Through The Grass – late summer ale
Water Tower – low alcohol wheat beer (not intentionally – the fermentation went wrong)
No Lucifer – dunkel weiss with strong dose of Bavarian hops
A Light Above Descending – Christmas beer (containing a combination of spices)
 Fiery – smoked ale
