Poached Eggs

Postby avocetboy » Thu Dec 03, 2015 4:49 pm

Oil some cling film, drape over a small bowl, sprinkle in some chopped chilli, salt and pepper, crack in the egg, Bring cling film together and twist to enclose egg. Boil for 5 minutes. Mash up some avocado and spread onto seeded brown bread. Unwrap poached egg and place on top. Serve with a couple of fried cherry tomatoes.

Best Breakfast ever

Sounds great but 5 minutes seems a bit eggsessive.
how's it going to end?

Mrs.Rake and I do this quite often as a weekend brekkie treat, with the addition of some finely diced red onion and skinned and diced tomato on the toast as well as the avocado, marvellous. As Gary is suggeggsting, those who like their eggs more poached than soft-boiled can reduce the cooking time accordingly.

We've evolved this slightly over the years and now tend to go for a bagel, instead of bread, and have introduced a dollop of hummus. I also find that a spring onion works well.

I'm marveling at the fact that us BSP geriatrics were all over smushed advocado on toast years before millenials were putting their house purchases on hold in order to afford it.
