Best Bonds

Postby gtw » Sun Nov 16, 2014 2:49 pm

My favourite cinema, the Prince Charles in that London is showing every Bond film on consecutive Sundays from 4 January and I've undertaken to see one film from each actor. That being the case, which would you choose?
how's it going to end?

Here is my top 5. I can't pick one.

1. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
2. Casino Royale
3. Licence To Kill
4. For Your Eyes Only
5. Goldfinger *

* I have always had trouble picking my favourite Connery Bond flick. I also really like From Russia With Love, Thunderball and You Only Live Twice.

First from each would be the only way to do it

Dr No
OHMSS
Live and Let Die
The living Daylights
Goldeneye
Casino Royale

Nice to see OHMSS getting some love. Used to be received wisdom that it was the worst Bond film due to Lazenby's slightly wooden acting. Its many strengths as a film more than make up for that. The end of the film is also totally devastating.

Diana Rigg though. I mean, DIANA RIGG!

I guess my favourite Bonds are the afore mentioned OHMSS, From Russia With Love (mainly for the soundtrack), Live And Let Die and The Man With The Golden Gun. Not really that bothered about the more recent whizz-bang Bonds, enjoyable though they are when they appear on TV.

The best Bond film is Casino Royale of course. The one with David Niven, Woody Allen and Bernard Cribbens. It's utterly deranged, as a cast like that would suggest.
Do it for the Butthole Surfers.

Dr No is my favourite. Other than that I can't remember.

I love the obvious sexual tension between Mr Porntache and Ms Buttonedup there.

She is wishing Ernie was a man. So much more reliable than porntache, the sex will last longer too.
