And also i've given in. I'm going along to the Manchester date. Maybe my old love for the Manics will be renewed?

I hope you have a fab time in God's own City, talia - at least you know you're guaranteed one great band!
I have doubts about your 'old Manics love',however, unless Richey sneaks on at the end, they turn up the volume to eleven, and launch straight into 'Motown Junk'!
James Dean was just a careless driver, and Marilyn Monroe was just a slag...

I'm hoping to use it as an opportunity to turn one of my best mates from a non-BSP believer into a massive fan.

As a 14-year-old girl, one would hope sexual ambivalence is what you'd have got.

Got an event update from Ticketmaster, "British Sea Power" I punched the air with fist in glee only to log on and find they were supporting MSP, my glee was quickly dismay, I feel almost embarrased that I have championed a band who are now supporting The Manics, I will be a laughing stock! A laughing stock!

Some worrying insights into the financial pressures of touring from a well known and hard working artist

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment_and_arts/10220002.stm

Extracts:

"Some fans have been unable or unwilling to pay $40 (£27) a ticket for her current tour, and she blames venue owners, ticket agencies and promoters for bumping up the fees.

Of that price, she will get around $16 (£11) per person to cover all touring costs, she says.

"So many venues are owned by these various different ticketing and promoting people, and they're all in bed with one another. It's no secret over here," she says.

Although she is reluctant to name names, the newly merged Live Nation and Ticketmaster owns half the venues on her 23-date North American tour and is selling tickets for most."

"I'm in the middle, and there are a lot of bands like me where it really is hard to get over the hump."

Live Nation and Ticketmaster are an unholy union. Ticketbastard was bad enough with the fees but now they are practically unavoidable with the stranglehold they have on the market. I try to buy from the venue box office as often as I can to avoid the outrageous fees. They can be over $30 at times! They even charge you extra for printing out your own tickets on your computer at home. Wha??

Does anyone have an official answer to this, please?

Not an official answer but I bloody hope they will, as I've just shelled out £57 for a pair of tickets to the second night in London, which seems to be the ambiguous one.

However, a friend of mine (who first found out about this through some kind of Manics grapevine) told me not to rush to get a ticket when they went on sale, as "a second London night" was likely to be announced on Friday October 29th. It looks like perhaps they decided in the end just to put both nights on sale from the off anyway, but it might explain why early versions of the tour dates don't include that particular show.

You're right though that official confirmation would be helpful. As opposed to the nightmare scenario of standing there in my BSP t-shirt waiting for them to come on, surrounded by Manics fans nudging each other, whispering Are you going to tell him, or shall I...
Most things are rubbish.

i use Ents24 and whilst I would normally trust their website (which has them doing both), it seems someone there has not only listed BSP as supporting all the future Manics dates but also gigs in the past! (that's going to take some organising)

http://www.ents24.com/web/event/1902388 ... tml?show=1

can vouch that BSP played Man of Aran in Perth that night at 9pm and so an 8.30pm gig in Glasgow would have been unlikely at best

They real bsp played Glagow that night. I believe you fell for the oldest t in the b, and went to see the bsp tribute, Antipodean Tea Power.

I know I seen the real thing, because Hyan came on and said 'Hallo Scotchland!'

Serious question though on the groupies front: if they want some rock cock, and the rock cock wants some groupie snatch, where's the harm? (as long as they're being 'safe', are of legal age and don't have partners who believe in monogomy OF COURSE).

It's so BORING.

I think the issue was with Richey that he always marketed himself as this asexual, almost virginal being,

Ah, that was it.

and in reality it wasn't the case.

I still want to believe he was as i loved him dearly. (I used to light candles too!)
