Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie played Canvey Island (!) on Radio 2 tonight and mentioned Tan Hill. Marc Riley played Waving Flags on 6Music. You should be able to 'listen again' on the BBC site.

Seems like the new stuff is causing quite a stir...
Kevo or Matthew Wood? Malevolence or good?

I heard the Riley one, as I was listening through my telly it sounded better than the listen again. I think it's growing on me.

To aid anybody looking for it Canvey Island is played at around 20 minutes into the Radcliffe/Maconie show.

I'll have a listen, not heard Canvey Island since Lincoln.

I know I am a bit of a naysayer at the moment, I don't want to be believe me.

Canvey Island sounds dead good. Waving Flags is INCREDIBLE. The Arcade Fire comparisons will be strong because it does sound quite like them, whilst still being very recognisably BSP. I don't think this is even slightly a bad thing - from everything I've heard, this album will be absolutely everything that Neon Bible failed to be.

The Radcliffe and Marconie one is well worth a listen if you haven't already done so. MR is obviously signed up to the newsboosts! He also says he respects them because they didn't talk to him when he tried to interview them!

I have only just worked out that the song begins "HN51, killed a wild swan", lord knows what I thought he was on about before.
