Did we/them/us not do this 10(?) years ago? Seem to remember a massive drive one Friday afternoon/evening to see some acoustic thingy with about half of them?

It was full .. we sat on the floor*

I'm saving my pennies for this year's performance in Louth**

November 2011, according to my list. The whole thing was deeply weird. Craig came dressed as a pirate and my B&B room had a window overlooking a large (indoor) swimming pool which was not part of the B&B. I also remember a massively long drive to get there, I don't think it's actually anywhere near anywhere.

Watched that kerfuffle ^ from a distance. We had no idea what was going on but it looked like a Benny Hill sketch.

With regards this festival, I'd be expecting a "gig on the way up there." Early tip offs much appreciated.

Looks like there's some work on the TransPennine lines the weekend of Stockton, which is nice. Fewer trains, no advance bookings, coaches between York & Leeds on the Sunday. It's going to be a pain in the arse or an adventure, depending on your outlook.

Of course, if you're driving, this is entirely irrelevant to you.

Given the band's usual MO of doing little headline gigs before and/or after festival dates, we don't actually know where we'll be getting trains from or to yet anyway. (And no, I don't know anything you don't. Well not about BSP gigs anyway, I mean I probably know a lot that you don't about things like semiconductor physics and cotton mill architecture in the OL postcode area 1890-1920).

Anyway I just booked the Hampton by Hilton Stockton-On-Tees, and I'm still not sure it's even real. (First time BSP played S-o-T in 2008 there was just one hotel in town and it was terrible, Biscuits gig there in about 2012 there was not even one single hotel in the place (the 2008 one having closed down) and we had to stay in Middlesbrough, last BSP one in 2017 there were two but they didn't look very nice so we stuck with M'boro... 18 months later there's a Hampton by Hilton? What happened??!)
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"

OK, so now we do know where we're getting trains from...

Presume everyone has seen the Easter warm-up, Friday 19th April at The Crossing in Digbeth, Birmingham. I'm reliably informed this is NOT the old Barfly (now called the Institute) but basically next door to it. Tickets on sale now. Awaydayer tip: at the time of writing both the Bullring and Moor Street Travelodges (both between city centre and venue and close to both) are available at the same price, Bullring is the better one, Moor Street still a bit shabby.

I am also reliably informed that the aforementioned Hay-on-Wye gig will be a proper full band set, not that semi-acoustic fuckery like last time.
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

Already booked elsewhere on Good Friday. Can't do 'em all.

Fingers and all other bits crossed they do a post-festival show in the Greater Yorkshire region...

Oops: "BSP step away the studio where they are currently recording the follow up to 2017's 'Let Dancers Inherit The Floor"
https://www.facebook.com/events/2145725302131951/

Usually a gig I would've attended, but I'm heading to the middle of the Atlantic that very day, planned on the day the gig was announced...

Added the Con Club gig (another one where I'm otherwise engaged).

I'll add the New Tan Hill Experience when we've some actual information about it. It's Booster's back garden in Louth, isn't it?

Sadly my plans for Easter have changed, or at least have been changed for me ..., so no Birmingham. Which means I am rather happy that the Con Club gig is happening and shall be once again in attendance.. even got my own ticket this time...

Well - the Digbeth gig last night was belting. A slightly unusual selection of tunes in some respects and actually I thought the set sagged slightly in the middle. It did for me anyway. But it recovered epically and the band seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as the audience.

No Oily Stage and I was surprised that Keep On Trying didn't get a run out because it seemed a big favourite with the crowd at Sheffield and Nottingham last year. But fair play to the band for shaking it up a bit and doing something different.

Nice to be able to park for free a couple of minutes' walk from the venue, though I did feel like I was taking my life in my hands making it back to the car.

Here's what happened, according to Street View (no worries, I think it's finished now)

Was tempted to go myself as my mum lives a mere 9 miles from the venue, but other plans have intervened. And you can have too much of a good thing over one Easter weekend.
