On the Friday with Everything Everything:

I'm definitely off work then, possibly for good (the buggers have confirmed we're going, but not exactly when!)

I had to look up where Margate was, it's a bloody long way from civilisation isn't it? On the other hand it's just five minutes down the train line (or a nice walk, weather permitting) from a chance to clock up another Biscuits song title so yeah, probably having that.

Margate - proper run down seaside town they forgot to close down, UKIP heartland, now attempting a resurgence. The Turner gallery is not my bag but it's helped the town a lot along with people fleeing from London house prices, there's now an 'old town' (a few streets) with nice cafes and bars and crafty gallery type shops. Just down the road Broadstairs is more upmarket and a bit further Ramsgate is a mini Margate without the regeneration.
The real bonus of the area (at least for me) is that Kent was the birthplace of the micro pub and the area has lots of very good ones.
I think the last train back to London is 10 though

Looking at the trains with stupid plans involving the terrifying phrase 'it's on the way'.

I appear to have booked the time off work. Anyone know of reasonable B&Bs in the Margate area?

I appear to have booked the time off work and something called the Smiths Court hotel, presumably because it was reasonable ish. I will be disappointed if it doesn't have pictures of The Smiths all over it, and if this is the case may rectify this by leaving some ( even though I don't actually like The Smiths that much).

Had to book somewhere in Ramsgate as the hotels in Margate are mad expensive. As were the ones in Broadstairs, disappointingly.

Still, all systems go for Kentish fun.
