June 2016 Live Dates

Postby pomfob » Mon Apr 11, 2016 12:53 pm

'Intimate shows', 'road testing new compositions'...

Wednesday 15, Trades Club, Hebden Bridge
Thursday 16, Brickyard, Carlisle
Friday 17, Sugarmill, Stoke
Saturday 18, Fibbers, York

Wednesday 22, Forum, Tunbridge Wells
Thursday 23, Old Fire Station, Bournemouth
Friday 24, Phoenix, Exeter
Saturday 25, Guildhall, Gloucester

Tickets on sale Friday 15 April, links in the newsboost (I'll post later if no one else does).

Initial thoughts - Hebden Bridge & York are nailed on, Stoke seems highly likely, Carlisle possible. The southern dates are unlikely, but if I can do any, then it has to be Gloucester.

Over to you, mes braves.

Just Hebden, Carlisle and York for us I think. Can't do Stoke or Gloucester and will be short of cash and time off after holidays so southern ones unlikely.

In case anyone didn't know, Fibbers is not where it used to be. Conveniently the new site/venue is very very close to the station. Especially convenient for us given the horrific prices of hotels in York that night and the fact that the last train to Manchester goes 5 minutes earlier than it used to (now 23.06).
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

It's the first time they've played in my locale since my first BSP gig in 2003, and I'll be away. Stoke Sugarmill that will be. Aaargh! I will be in The Hebrides, which isn't bad compensation.

Also, this Newsboost was the first ever to appear in my spam as far as I'm aware, so I don't know if that's something to do with the new e-mail system/providers...

I've been away for my lunch and return convinced I can do all the northern dates, Exeter & Gloucester.

I'm a fucking idiot.

It got through mine OK (at work), they seem to be about 50/50 and I have never fathomed the logic of it.

I'm slightly sad to be missing the Sugarmill, but it's the Longcut's debut-album-10th-birthday gig in Manchester and wouldn't be missing that for anything. I had no idea the place was even still there, I used to be in there quite frequently about 10 years ago, would have been quite odd to go back. ah well.

I went a few years without going there, which sounds shocking considering it's my local venue - but apart from a couple I missed when I was on holiday, there weren't any good bands of my taste on for ages (as far as I was aware).

If I made a top 5 of gigs I wouldn't want to miss, BSP at The Sugarmill would be one of them, but ah well...

Would love to do some of the north dates, nice venues, better beer etc but looking at it it may just be Tunbridge Wells for me....

I await the opportunity with eager anticipation, dear boy.

I've tried to post the ticket links a few times, and keep getting a weird error message. Anyone else tried?

I might just be able to make the Carlisle date, hang around for a couple of days, then cycle back to Edinburgh on the Ride to the Sun. Good timing.

I am going to Tunbridge Wells. Anyone else going to anything? It's very quiet around here. I am very excited already and have ordered a t-shirt in anticipation. In a minute I will have a cup of tea then a lie down.
