There was a passing mention of a possible (though it didn't sound all that likely) Christmas show on Edith Bowman on radio 2 this afternoon.
Worth listening to for a nice cover of Sunday Morning.

Plus some live sea of brass in new year. Really nice cover of Sunday morning by velvet underground
How would they survive back in the wild?

Ok, it looks like I was 6 months out...

Nothing, except for the show in Austria, and the official launch of Sea Of Brass (how weird that seems after having the box for 4 months!) Now, just for fun, no inside information or anything, let's ponder...

Hammy's going to be off in his Scottish fastness, and apart from feeding the goat, all he has to do is write songs. Yan will be doing the same, and there's no goats at his gaff. Family get together over xmas, might as well rehearse the new tunes. If all goes well, then into the studio with them in the new year. After all this time away, it shouldn't take that long to commit to tape or whatever the digital equivalent is - say a couple of months work, plus polishing. Could all be in the bag by Easter.

At which point, the decision has to be made when to release the thing. Two options, before summer or after. Now shoving it out asap might seem the best idea, but then it's lost in the holiday season, and it's a brave band who take a stack of songs new to the audience out on the festival circuit. New LP next autumn then...with as many festival and out of the way warm up shows as they can muster in the preceding months, introducing the new stuff and retiring some old standards - and making sure that 'whimbrel' is worth putting on the LP instead of 'bakelite'.

Come the colder months, it'll be time to promote big style. Start off with a big launch do, followed by a strategic UK & Ireland tour, then some European capitals and possibly a couple of US dates all before a slap-up xmas party (well, the fans like that sort of thing). 2017 will be the year of the tour though. Every corner of the British Isles, a couple of decent European jaunts, all over North America, maybe even a smattering of Middle Eastern dates. After that, it'll be festival season again and a summer of Sea Power everywhere you look. Follow that up with some southern hemisphere dates, then a final lap round the old country, and finishing with another slap-up xmas do.

Of course, I'm probably talking out of my hole here. But I'm saving up cash & leave for 2017, just in case.
Do it for the Butthole Surfers.
