Dudley gig September 4th - no tickets?

Postby James Morris » Thu Aug 06, 2015 10:14 pm

Ok, got my latest BSP newsboost today, and great news to see the Stourbridge gig on Sept 4th. However, despite clicking on the 'tickets here' link 2 hours after the email arrived, there are 'no tickets available '. No answer from the venue on the phone. Anyone know if there are tickets available? Thanks in anticipation.

It is only 150 capacity, and I got this Twitter response from the venue:

"hi there BSP totally sold out within 24 hours online apologies if you missed the chance, word spread very fast last night".

So looks like a legitimate sell out.

I think anyone who went to it were silenced with one those dildo things from MIB.
People used to post reviews of gigs here, but no, not now, not that IDS is in charge.
Chunt.

It was good, but no where near as good a brakes were in Glasgow tonite.

Set list wise. Cannot remember, but they did do a no instrument version of Saint Louis and hammy sang loving animals and mongk. They finished with lately and a splendid rock in a type jam session

This was the set list. It's upside down. And it doesn't have "Waving Flags" on it before Skua but they did play it. Was an excellent little gig in a strange little town with the smallest trains ever. The semi-acapella St Louis was due to all the amps cutting out except the vocal PA, so Hamilton and Noble improvised their parts vocally, actually pretty good.

Opened with Machineries, followed by a predictable set, but no less entertaining because of it. Phil absent, but that may well have been because there was no room for him on the stage as much as other commitments - the venue was tiny. I think the stated capacity of 150 might be a little ambitious. Good little space though, decent bar, good sight lines, easy to go to the front if you wanted to.

The sort of acappella Louis was pretty funny, and surprisingly good, as was the Phil-less Great Skua; that shouldn't work without the wandering horn, yet it did.

I did pick up a set list, but on closer examination I think it was for the following night at Festival Number 6...oops.

And Avocetboy, we seem destined to frequent similar places yet never to meet.

Plus, there was nearly a fight between an enthusiastic chap and a couple of young upstarts who appeared to have an aversion to someone having a good time.

The venue was pretty cool (I liked the use of OSB boarding).

Apologies Pomfob, next gig, formal introductions are due!!

Here's another picture. It's shit cos it was on my phone. (I've kind of started taking for granted that DeepGreenSea of this forum will be at gigs and do good photos but not seen him for a while)

Yes it was regular BSP gig hurricane Neil G, he of the Ace Hotel stage invasion (does he do forums? no idea what his name is on here if he does) who was enjoying himself a little too enthusiastically for some rather stuffy types about half his age, one of whom tried to start a scrap with him. He wasn't doing anything wrong or bad and it was quite possible to stand at the front (as I did) without getting involved or even affected by the small dancing pit in the middle.
