Just found this webpage for BSP's latest soundtrack project - includes a clip featuring some of their music:

Have to take issue with the idea that he's a "largely forgotten British hero" - bit difficult to forget someone whose fizzog was on every box of matches in the house until I was about 25. Or am I just getting old?

Excellent, love a good BSP film soundtrack news update.

The Happiness soundtrack was great, as short as it was.
Totally at ease with it all, yeah.

A little column by Yan about this soundtrack (posted on BSP Twitter)

I particularly enjoyed the line "Hamilton created some very strange sounds in an effort to capture the strange character of the sea and jellyfish."

Ooh, that's actually this week now isn't it? But only if you live in London, twazzers. Some regional showings at a later date, none in the north as yet but check here for updates - http://www.marathonfilms.co.uk/cinema-release/

Saw this at the ICA this afternoon. Ignore the two and (grudging) three star reviews. This is really quite enjoyable and the BSP soundtrack is wonderful, as is the end title song. There is also an extra treat for BSP fans, but I'll keep this spoiler free!

Glad to see you appreciate the heads up Blackout. Just thought that those outside of London and/or unable to make it to the Curzon Bloomsbury over the next three days might like to know that there is an alternative way to see the movie and hear BSP's wonderful soundtrack.

I can only guess that the 'Welcome In" thread on the forum is intended to be ironic, as those of us with a post count not running to four figures don't really seem to be welcome here.

Eh? What? Not welcoming your post would have been not responding to it. Responding to it in the way I would have done whoever had made it is surely just..... being on a forum? No discrimination here. Maybe if that had been your first ever post and I'd never seen your name before I wouldn't have done, but you've been here for flippin yonks, never thought that you were anything less than someone on the forum (if that makes sense).

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother posting here at all any more when I can chat to all my mates and acquaintances on facebook these days and most of those I met here have long departed... (that's the only reason I have a daft post count. If you look at that top ten post counts thing someone put up a few days ago, there's a lot of people who used to be on here all the time don't bother any more, I was certainly never amongst the most prolific back in the day) .......oh yeah, that would be because I still generally quite enjoy exactly what I describe above, the sort of idle bantering (in the old sense of the word, not as in nasty "lads banter") with anyone who shares a common interest, including (and sometimes especially) people who are just names on the internet.

Your information is indeed useful, sorry if I offended you by answering your question literally with a hint of light heartedness.... (and frustration that our brand new state of the art swanky new independent cinema and shiny arts complex here in Manchester hasn't got this film on, very poor show)

Fair enough Blackout, thanks! Truth is, even though I was lucky enough to see Captain Webb in an actual cinema, I share your frustration that it is not more widely available to be seen, and of course, heard, in all its cinematic glory and genuinely feel for those unable to do so, hence my enthusiastic posting of the Curzon Home Cinema link. I hope you do get to see it in a decent cinema sometime soon. I will be watching again on TV this weekend with a few friends that couldn't make the ICA screening last Saturday. Hope we don't have to wait too long for a soundtrack release!
