I've seen a lot of this sort of shaky-fix nonsense, but in this case it really works.

Oh. So I was wrong and had heard it before Monday's outing, but it won't have had Eamon's clarinet.

Doesn't surprise me that it was at a Krankenhaus night that I would have heard it before - they could have had a white lace-clad, peak period Sally James doing things on stage with a black leather-draped Suzi Quatro (there's a free fantasy suggestion for some of the older members here) and I probaly wouldn't have remembered it.

Eamon's Clarinet was obviously mighty to behold.

I can understand recording a couple of songs/ taking a couple of photos (a la Team Skinku) as a fan at a gig but never get why someone puts a piece of technology between themselves and the band for the entire gig. That wobbly mass in your skull is the best piece of tech on earth for processing and remembering what is happening. Why remove yourself from the moment?

And any time I have seen video(s) of what I considered to be classic Sea Power gigs it has always been a bit of a let down.

I kept the camera thing on my shoulder and did the lot, hardly looked at it and it was mostly in shot.
Probably took me away a tad of course but it was a treat for Mrs Skinku.

The best ones, in my opinion, are always those filmed right at the front with distorted sound and the view of the stage largely obscured by bouncing bodies, because they're the ones that most closely resemble what's stored inside wobbly mass in my skull already.

Is the Ace Hotel actually a hotel? If so, bit of pressure isn't it? Setting themselves up for a trip advisor fall i'd say.

Quality Hotels get away with it.

When in London I often get billeted at the Burns Hotel. It's small wonder I'm a nervous wreck.

All this talk of hotels has made me think about Alex Polizzi and her plunging necklines.
