Quietus review

Postby kevo » Tue Jun 16, 2015 5:02 am

...by Simon Price.

Simply one of the best things I've ever read about BSP - "If you were never 'now', it follows you can never be 'then'..."

Great review. I had cut and was about to paste ....'They are that vital thing: a band who, had they not existed, no-one else would have thought to invent them'.... and simply write 'Exactly', after it, but I see the first comment on the Quietus did precisely this, so I won't. I will therefore pedantically suggest that I think the audience member may have been 'twatted' rather than 'cushed'.

If it was the person close to me then it was Drum in to head which I would concur is more 'twatted' than 'crushed'

Please spread the love with Simon Price review m8s?

http://thequietus.com/articles/18110-br ... e-review-2

Aye, it might be great if one and all can COMMENT, LIKE, SHARE and FLY FROM RADIO-CONTROLLED AIRCRAFT with this Quietus review? Please broadcast the word on all socialist media.

That is how the world works RIGHT NOW and if we don't do this the Faroe Islands will fall from the face of the Earth...

Fire it on 4 times and you will get a 50p vibe voucher for Morrisons or Sadie The Bra Lady. And Simon will get paid an extra £6.75 which is a nice problem to have...

Thought for the day: It's best to be important, but it's important to be best...

I leaned of Pricey's sterling work thanks to a social media share made by the estimable Nurdled, by Astley, so it's clearly working.
I then shared it myself with a link to that astounding Spidersheep photoset underneath because if a photograph is worth a thousand words, those are worth 10,000 apiece (I'm thinking of words such as 'hell's bells!', 'crivvens!' and 'holy shit - is that woman levitating?"*
I recommend this set-up as the standard format - the ultimate BSP one/two punch.

I happened across this review last night during a lazy google search session. i think it's called surfing.
Now, I don't mind telling you I am no fan of the Quietus, in fact I think it's awful. I would much much rather read BBC Gardeners World magazine, Heritage Railway Magazine or even Total Carp. There are some huge fish in Total Carp and some salt of the earth enthusiasts. People like Fred Elliot, I would imagine, who would undoubtedly take Ashley for a days Carp fishing and not get upset if the pictures didn't come out very well in the low light.
I've never much liked the writing of Simon Price either, but it's nothing personal. He seems nice.

I expected to move on quickly, but as I kept on reading I was delighted. Very good piece, that. Very good indeed.

There was talk in the post-gig toilet queue of some bloke going round after Bo Ningen saying how much he fancied the bird on bass. Mind-you, hovering in the air like that could well make you think he was a bird.

Total Carp is great if you like reading about hair-rigged boilies, buzzers and bivies. I prefer reading about hairy-arsed boilers, bizzies and bevies* myself.

[*Talking of which I'm currently enjoying a cheeky nip of Old Pultney before going off for a pre-nightshift kip, thanks to your recommendation, Wendelin.]

This may also distract you for a quarter hour or so. A couple of factual inaccuracies that may irritate, but when the Price is right, he's righteous.

I only wish I'd had the nerve to wear a kimono out and about when I was his age. I'm self confident enough now, but I doubt anyone would thank me for it.

Shite, I was just waiting for him to say 'Hounds of Love' sounded fantastic, so I could catch him out. But he didn't.

He's right, it was, i'm afraid, pedestrian (at least on the 2nd night, and from the 2nd row).

Another good review.
