The Decline artwork

A timely question for the 12th anniversary of the decline -

Does anyone know whether the LP cover for The Decline itself was based on a book's artwork, as Carrion/Apologies (The Gambler - Dostoevsky), Childhood Memories (Wildlife of Britain), Remember Me (the 2nd version - Thank You Fog - WH Auden), Fear of Drowning (The Wooden Horse - Eric Williams) were? Much appreciated if anyone has any information on this. Also - if anyone knows whether The Lonely and the first Remember Me were based on book covers, or indeed any other BSP artwork, this would be good too.

Cheers.

Don't know if you ever got your answer to this question but if not, I can tell you. The design was based on "The Bridge of San Luis Rey" by Thornton Wilder published in 1947 by Longmans, Green and Co.
