Brunswick pub derby

Postby BabyGray » Mon Sep 01, 2014 6:29 pm

My new favorite pub is the Brunswick, in derby, a few minutes walk from derby train station and bubbles health spa...Was in there Saturday afternoon and enjoyed 3 pints of the white feather ale, brewed in house and £2.50 a pint or 2.30 camra members. Bumped into a bsp tshirt wearing bloke. Well worth a session IMO pom next time you are in get in and sample One of their ales. Lovely pub with nice flagstones and impossibly deep skirting boards. Classy ale house. It's gone to the top o my list!

It’s a class pub, if I remember rightly me and pomfob got most of the way to being very drunk in said establishment before the Derby Venue gig, also very handy if you have an hour to kill changing trains …

I attend a quarterly meeting in Derby and usually stay just around corner (not at Bubbles) and sometimes drop in the Brunswick. It's a fine ale house.

Isn't that just Derby in general?

Biscuits gigs down there always seemed to involve some sort of kick-off in the crowd, locals not regulars (and to be fair they kept it between themselves) - quite glad they've not been back there for a while.
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

Though I'd bump this thread in relation to the tenth of Januarys brass gig. I'm hearing rumors that yan and Hamilton like a drop of white feather served and brewed only in the Brunswick! Nice session ale and only 2.80 a pint or 2.60 with your camra card pom! I'll be in there early doors admiring the Victorian skirting boards and flagstones.
