Just to clarify - is the main gig indoors or in the wild open air? Just ned to know if my kids need to pack sou'westers? Anyone know if you need to book the ferry crossing and back (don't have tickets for ferry performance). Peace and love.

Last time I took the Brownsea Island ferry, which was several years ago, there was no booking involved, we just turned up and boarded. And am I right I'm thinking there's a return ferry provided at 21:30?

Thanks! Yes, returns by 21.30 - according to what it says in the info, anyway. Hopefully there will be room for all! :)

Marquue. I have no idea about ferries or potential buggery.

From the latest Newsboost Nature Island it looks like BSP play the island side of things only,

"BSP are NOT scheduled to play aboard the ferry. PLEASE NOTE ALSO, this is an early event, to tie in with ferry schedules. And APOLOGIES but as we go to press the special ferry element, featuring the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet playing on an extended tour around the harbour and islands, has already sold out (these tickets inadvertently went on sale before they were meant to). "

so the normal ticket and any old ferry over the the magic world of red squirrel and Baden-Powell will do nicely

I too seem to have accidentally bought a ticket with no thought about how I'm going to get down there, I think Kevo is going to have winch me in with his Sikorsky chopper...

British Sea Power Extended Ferry Trip and Gig

Information

We are very pleased you have booked tickets for the British Sea Power event on Brownsea Island on Sunday 12 October. We are contacting you to clarify the arrangements for the event but if you have any questions, please do contact the Festival Team on 01202 451805 or 07501 413989 or email artsbournemouth@bournemouth.gov.uk.

We have chartered one of the Brownsea Yellow Ferries so your ticket includes the extended ferry ride around the five islands and the return ferry ride.

The ferry departs from the Sandbanks Ferry Point at 16.00 and arrives on Brownsea Island at approximately 17.00. There is a bar on the Ferry. The musicians will be offering a musical accompaniment but please note, this part of the event is not a full BSP gig, rather a unique performance with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra brass and BSP vocals.

For those with island gig tickets - We have chartered one of the Brownsea Yellow Ferries so your ticket includes the return ferry ride. The ferry departs from the Sandbanks Ferry Point at 17.45 and returns before 21.30. Please look out for the Arts Bournemouth sign on the Ferry.

If however you want to go over to the Island at a different time you will be charged for the Ferry ticket.

The gig will take place under cover in a marquee and is standing only. Please dress appropriately with warm clothes and if needed bring a thermos!

Catering facilities are limited on Brownsea Island, the National Trust cafe will offer tea and coffee on arrival, but no food is available. We will have a bar which will serve refreshments throughout the gig. You are welcome to bring your own food to eat in the cafe area.

If the weather is too severe we may need to cancel the event and will inform you by email. We will also post information on the website and through our social media sites.

The ferry returns to Sandbanks before 21.30.

We look forward to seeing you on 12 October.

Best wishes The Festival Team

This makes me very excited.

This makes me sad, I don't even want to contemplate it.

No, they're not playing, they're singing...or they decided it was a bit tight not turning up for the special boat crew.

Work commitments mean that I can no longer make this gig, two tickets including the boat trip up for grabs at face value, £60. PM me to sort out.

Just checked on my Seetickets account and it says:

Overall despatch progress for this event: 59% of tickets despatched.
We are in the process of despatching tickets for this event.

I guess we're in the 41%, wouldn't worry yet.
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....
