Presumably picked up during your rave days in tribute to Altern8?

Also has anyone worked out how to get to Sandbanks Ferry Point from Bournemouth? I don't mind a four-mile walk, but if it is raining and cold then I'm less inclined.

The number 50 bus appears to be the best option to get there from Bournemouth. Assuming the weather's okay, I'm going to walk there. The issue will be getting back. I think it's going to have to be a taxi. I don't fancy walking back late in the evening.

Well that was a bit special, wasn't it? Band at the top of their game, great selection of songs, fantastic sound and a stunning setting right by the sea (went for a walk - in the pouring rain- round the island before the gig - saw a stag, a firecrest, peacocks, and loads of them cute little squirrels of the red variety...).

I'm going to have a stab at the set-list (as a lot of the people who probably have a better idea of what was played and in what order are almost certainly still in the 24-hour bar at the Hotel Contaminated Paradise, or whatever god-awful real ale pub Alfie has dragged them to...). Anyone know if the following is correct?

Machineries of Joy
Fear of Drowning
Larsen B
Waving Flags
Great Skua
Blackout (with brass ensemble)
Moley and Me (")
The Lonely (")
Radio Goddard (")
What You Need the Most (")
Bear (")
Remember Me
Lights Out for Darker Skies
Loving Animals
No Lucifer
True Adventures (return of brass)

Encore: Carrion
Kevo or Matthew Wood? Malevolence or good?

Thanks Kevo – a firecrest, wow! Have never knowingly seen a firecrest.

Yep, other than The Lonely and Radio Goddard other way around.

Special indeed.

Yan played solo on the boat bit beforehand;

Childhood Memories
Strange Communication
The Lonely
Radio Goddard (with brass ensemble)

Pity about the weather, but that was damn good.

Here's some photos from last night.

There's a photo of the little kid who was at the front with the bear amongst the collection. Not sure if his mum's on here, if not, can you let her know. It's on flickr, but I'm happy to remove it. Direct link https://flic.kr/p/pnKXMV

It's Junior Skinku. He was having a whale of a time.

As were the grown ups, it has to be said. Bloody marvellous. And I should say, so are the photos. Cheers.

There were some grown-ups there? (Well obviously there was spidersheep who was grown-up enough to take these absolutely excellent photos, thank you, but...........)

Another great evening, another new place, another unique experience, another excellent set. They bloody spoil us don't they?

Cheers to everyone involved in the organisational logistics of this one too, it all worked out really well didn't it?
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

Fanks for the footage, Skink. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jkcm9aI0bs8
Hope Abi recovers in time for the DLWP show - looks like they might have to drop 'Bear' from the setlist otherwise, unless Yan brushes up on his counting.
And speaking of Bears, that 'kid riding Ursine' shot is a classic.

It really was a brilliant gig. I thought that with the first 5 songs (bar Larsen B) that the band may have shot their load but the middle portion with the brass and Ham section really made it work. Weird how a temporary marquee on a rain and windswept island can provide better sound in terms of clarity and mix of instruments than about 90% of "professional" venues.

Nice how both Bsp and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra gents really seemed to enjoy playing with each other...I guess I could rephrase that but now I do not want to. I just love how a band that have been playing live gigs for more than a decade can still enthral and amaze their audience and still be the best live act around. Definitely have to visit the island in its own right as well, but those that did seemed well rewarded with nature which was probably worth the soaking.

And to the future...once Sea of Brass is done is it time for some new songs to start appearing?
I keep a shotgun buried in a box.
