Great read. Emphasizes how much of a DYI ethos they've had. It can't be coincidence that a lot of bands I like have some similar threads. Certain activities or behaviors must be yielding sounds that resonate more with me than whatever else the rest of other music is.

"Fender amps don't really work for the things i do live"

eh? funny statement.
if hes talking about being able to whack it up but still keep it cleanish sounding then fender amps are the absolute kings of that. if he means he wants it to break up as it gets louder, then there are plenty of fender amps that do that too.
if hes talking about full on rawk overdrive/distortion (which given his marshall head & cab, i dont think he is) but in the unlikely event that he is, virtually everybody uses a separate pedal for that anyway, unless you have some 2/3 channel 'metal' type marshall, which i dont think he has.

i dont get it.
