Folkestone Fun n Frolics

Postby CaptainSeeBass » Sat Apr 12, 2014 10:02 pm

Anyone going to the Folkestone gig?

Also does anybody have an idea of finish times ?

Last train back towards London (kent) is at 10.55 so could be a tight one...

I was, but not anymore. Got a ticket if anyone needs one. Face value.

Good gig that. Yan needs to give Hamilton some of his pies though. Did anyone else think Yan's 'important announcement' was going to be more significant than just an end of tour goodbye before he paused and glanced to manager Dave in the wings? Never seen them do the group bow before either. Or am I just putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5?

Things like this worry me.

If my memory serves me correct it went something like this during a song interval toward end of set....

Yan "I've got an important announcement to make"
*glances to wing where Dave and Mal Troon are standing, or it could have been to Noble*
Yan "Well it's not important, but it's an announcement, this is our last gig"
*further pause*
Yan "We've played 13 gigs in 14 days and this is the last show"
*followed by some thanks to Tidy, Troon and Co*

Then at the end they all got together for a group bow to the audience.

Could've just been end of tour stuff, but felt a bit odd and very un-BSP. Even Mrs.Rake thought something was up, and she's far more sensible than me.

Perhaps one of those in-the-know could shed some light and put my/our troubled minds at rest.

They do have festival appearances yet to go, so these statements are patently related to the tour-only. Not?

I was hoping for a 'Sea of Brass' tour during the autumn, too.
I am anticipating a newsboost now with great apprehension.

I don't want to see Newsboost Pope Benedict or Graeme Swann.
