I was looking at the prices of youth hostels in Liverpool (for the Friday night) - £45+ just for a bed!The week night prices were around £15. Maybe it's the Grand National effect.

I was seriously thinking of going to the tour opener in Liverpool until I found the cheapest Travelodge room in the city was £178 - and that was trying to book 2 months ahead.

Living in Manchester we generally go home after regular venue Liverpool gigs, there being a train at 23.38 (EVAC and other venues round there being about 15 mins walk from Lime St). The train is always full of character, though most of it gets off at Widnes or Warrington. The point being if those who wanted to attend but found Liverpool hotels too expensive on horse-killing weekend might find a cheaper one in Manchester. or might not.
And I asked, "Are you dreaming about a crow?"
And there she was....

Loved it from start to finish last night ,great little venue , really good friendly crowd and
Finally i got to see the band i have most wanted to see for yrs.
Oh and that drummer from warm digits is to be fair a cut above, only caught the last track by cavalry which was a shame as i wanted to catch them.
Waving flags and Lucifer did it for me last night so went home a very happy man.

for the purposes of planning a pre gig ale in Northampton, what time have the band been coming on the stage so far? I would hate to get there late and miss anything, on the same token one doesn't want to arrive too early and have to wait around!

I don’t think the Roadmender will be an early finish, such as was the case with the Liquid Rooms, so would expect doors at 7 support (Warm Digits ??) on at 8.30 / BSP 9.30 / curfew 23:00.

As for “waiting around” beforehand, well that’s what pubs are for, to find one with other liked minded people I would highly recommend the meet ups part of the forum ...

However it looks like I could be wrong on all that “not being an early finish” thing as I have just found this is listed for Friday as well....

Mentioned in the meet ups section too, but if anyone has a spare ticket for Sheffield, let me know. Cheers.

That looks rather weirdly like a Christmas card. A nice one, though.
